Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Software Development Manager to lead our implementation and development teams. This role requires a strong technical background, as well as proven experience in managing software developers, including hiring, managing sub-contractors, as well as handling timesheet. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of software development processes, cloud technologies, and experience managing GIS developers and solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

– Lead and manage implementation and development teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

– Oversee the hiring process, including interviewing and selecting candidates, as well as managing performance evaluations and terminations.

– Manage sub-contractors, ensuring they meet project deadlines and quality standards.

– Handle timesheet approvals and ensure accurate time tracking across the team.

– Provide technical guidance to the development team, leveraging a strong background in software development.

– Manage GIS developers and oversee the development of GIS solutions.

– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.

 

Qualifications:

– Background experience as a software developer, with strong skills in languages such as JavaScript, React, and Python.

– 2-4 years managing software developers, preferably in the GIS space.

– Solid understanding of software development processes and technologies, including design patterns, algorithms, data structures, schemas, queries, system design, unit testing, code reviews, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.

– Experience with cloud technologies is highly desirable.

– Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage remote teams effectively.
