Project Engineer – Data Center Construction (MEP Focus)
Location: Port Washington, WI
Onsite: 100% onsite required
Contract: 6–12-month contract with expectation to extend, or convert to full-time.
Pay: $55–$75/hour (W2) + Per Diem

About the Role
We’re hiring a Project Engineer to support large-scale hyperscale data center construction projects for Vantage Data Centers, one of the most respected data center developers in the world. This is a hands-on, onsite role supporting mission-critical builds with heavy MEP coordination, fast timelines, and zero room for error.

Key Responsibilities
- Support field execution of data center construction projects with a strong focus on MEP systems
- Manage and track submittals, RFIs, and drawings, ensuring alignment with schedule and construction sequencing
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and controls trade partners to resolve field issues and clashes
- Support long-lead equipment tracking (switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, etc.)
- Assist with schedule awareness, look-aheads, and milestone tracking in coordination with the project team
- Support QA/QC, commissioning readiness, and owner turnover documentation
- Maintain accurate project documentation using tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office
- Work closely with Construction Managers, PMs, and Superintendents onsite
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer on commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
- Strong exposure to MEP systems (electrical and mechanical coordination is critical)
- Experience supporting data center, hospital, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Comfortable working onsite full-time in an active construction environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Experience
- Data center or mission-critical construction experience
- Familiarity with redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N)
- Exposure to commissioning and turnover processes
