Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to lead and mentor the outside sales and account management teams. This role is critical in driving sales success and ensuring the effective management of sales opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in software and enterprise sales, particularly with a focus on transitioning to a SaaS pricing model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a diverse sales team, including coordinating efforts with external partners to achieve sales goals.
- Sales Process Management: Implement and oversee a structured sales cadence and process to manage all open opportunities effectively.
- Opportunity Advancement: Collaborate with team members to move sales opportunities through the pipeline efficiently.
- Quota Achievement: While focusing on team support, maintain and achieve a personal sales quota.
- Financial and Legal Acumen: Interpret and analyze financial reports and legal documents to support sales activities and decision-making.
- Technical Understanding: Possess a solid understanding of how software and hardware solutions integrate to address business challenges.
- Customer and Regulatory Communication: Address inquiries and complaints from customers, regulatory bodies, and the broader business community with professionalism.
- Proposal and Quote Preparation: Demonstrate expertise in crafting detailed proposals and accurate quotes for prospective clients.
- Public Speaking and Writing: Prepare and deliver compelling speeches and articles that adhere to established formats and styles.
- Executive Presentation: Present information effectively to senior management, public groups, and board members.
- Mathematical Proficiency: Calculate various financial metrics and geometric figures with precision.
- Problem-Solving: Identify issues, gather relevant data, establish facts, and derive logical conclusions to resolve challenges.
- Task Prioritization: Efficiently prioritize tasks and negotiate priorities with end users to meet deadlines.
- Integrity and Respect: Uphold honesty and demonstrate respect for diversity in all professional interactions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading sales teams within a software or enterprise sales environment.
- Strong background in transitioning sales models to SaaS pricing structures.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel 20-30% as required.
