Job Description

The Jr. SQL Server DBA will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the SQL Server infrastructure supporting internal and external customer solutions using SQL 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Position will require the person to work off hours shifts.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with RDBMS
  • Windows Security Setup / Window Server Administration
  • Strong self-sufficiency and familiarity working on Database projects
  •  Experience in monitoring
  • Experience with SQL language
  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerBI, Sharepoint
  • Understanding of formal change control processes
  • Develop/modify teams system documentation
  • Conduct system performance monitoring
  • Ability to communicate with end users across the globe

Principal SQL Server DBA

Job Description

The Principal SQL Server DBA will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the SQL Server infrastructure supporting internal and external customer solutions This individual must have expertise in Windows Systems Administration as it pertains to SQL Server DBA duties.  They will be responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the SQL Server databases and will ensure that required resources are allocated to SQL Server.  They will perform DB performance tuning and proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.  The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving.  They will be responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades. Position will require the person to work off hours shifts.

  • DBA-SQL Server SQL 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
  •  System Administration-Windows Server / Security Setup
  •  Process customer requests to make changes to existing databases
  •  Understanding of formal change control processes
  • Evaluate database design and make recommendations for changes/redesigns
  • Develop/modify system documentation
  • Conduct system performance monitoring
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with end users across the globe
  •  Ability to proactively formulate projects to improve the database environment
  • Strong analysis and design skills
  • Writing skills for technical and non-technical documentation
  • System Architecture (understanding of Windows systems)
  • SQL Optimization experince in SQL Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017 environment
  • Experience with SQL Server in a Windows clustered server and Always On Availability Groups.

SENIOR ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

SENIOR ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

 

Responsible for planning, coordinating and administration of Oracle & MS SQL Server databases on Windows or Unix (AIX & Solaris) platforms, including base definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of information within databases. Makes extensive use of various support tools, such as OEM, TOAD, etc. Establishes and maintains security integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management. Responsibilities may include the following: troubleshooting, recovery, tuning of the database, software installation, resolving errors and failures, auditing activities and resource utilization.

 

Also responsible for the analysis, installation, maintenance, upgrades, long-range requirements and operational guidelines of computer hardware and software on UNIX & MS SQL Server systems. Proposes and implements system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system, including security integrity controls. Monitors usage and performance. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management. Responsibilities may include troubleshooting, recovery, resolving UNIX & Windows OS errors and failures, auditing activities and resource utilization. Trains personnel on system usage.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Installation, troubleshooting, configuration, upgrade, and patching of Oracle v9.x & v10.x database servers on Unix, AIX & MS Operating Systems, and MS SQL Server database servers.
  • Manage and monitor Oracle and MS SQL Server database environments on 24/7 basis in a corporate data center. (Includes on-call support.)
  • Trouble-shoot application and database performance issues pertaining to Oracle and MS SQL Server databases
  • Work independently to perform routine database change requests by development and application support for internal and external (Client-facing) Oracle and MS SQL Server database application.
  • Design, develop, test & implements SQL and PL/SQL procedures to maintain and/or modify operational data
  • Mentors and trains junior DBA personnel, providing training and guidance in Oracle and corporate procedures and processes.
  • Perform Oracle & MS SQL Server backup and recovery processes and procedures.
  • Codes, tests, and documents definitions and access to the data base.
  • Analyzes information requirements of new or modified systems and develops data base specifications for data base construction and maintenance.

 

Job Specifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Vendor certification on Oracle and MS SQL Server
  • Oracle Database Administration
  • Unix (AIX and Solaris) and Windows OS
  • Experience with Oracle 9/10 in a clustered environment.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server database in Windows environment.
  • Installation, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and stored procedures of Oracle 9/10 and Veritas clustering.
  • Understanding of IBM AIX and Sun OS level issues and effect on Oracle implementations and performance.
  • Solid background installing, configuring & troubleshooting Oracle v9/v10 on IBM AIX and Sun using enterprise mass storage / RAID configurations (EMC, A1000 Sun arrays). Some experience in database design and implementation, working with application engineers.

Oracle Database Administrator

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator who will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of Oracle databases. Interested candidate will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances. You will also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
  • Prepare documentations and specifications
  • Handle common database procedures such as installation, server optimization, monitoring, replication setup, upgrades, backups, recovery, migrations, releases etc.
  • Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Manage and monitor Oracle database environments.  On call rotation for critical pages of 24/7 supported application databases

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with Installation, troubleshooting, configuration, upgrade, and patching of Oracle 12c database servers on Unix AIX & Linux Red Hat Operating Systems
  • Experience in Oracle database management
  • Understanding of IBM AIX and Linux Red Hat OS level issues and effect on Oracle implementations and performance.
  • Experience with versions Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c
  • Experience with AIX server performance tuning on Oracle based environments
  • Experience with replication configuration in Oracle
  • Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in Oracle
  • Familiarity with PL/SQL and SQL query language.
  • Understanding in writing and optimizing SQL statements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Oracle DBA on AIX or Linux OS Production environments.
  • Understanding of code language Ksh or Bash.

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of CommVault backup software and integration with RMAN.
  • Hands on experience of Oracle Enterprise Monitor (OEM).
  • Experience with Oracle utilities and GUI tools.  Such as Expdp, Impdp, DBUA, DBCA.
