Position: Part-Time Bookkeeper
Location: Remote
Duration: 1 year contract, with expectation to extend.
Schedule: 15 hours/week (Contract)
Hourly Pay: $25-$30 W2
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices and statements to ensure timely payments.
- Invoicing: Prepare professional service invoices for clients, including Time & Material, Fixed Price contracts, and travel expenses.
- Payment Recording: Record deposits and client payments.
- Cash Flow Management: Maintain weekly cash flow projections.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including necessary month-end entries.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile checking and credit card accounts.
- Banking Platform: Manage financial transactions through an online banking platform.
- Payroll: Process payroll using Gusto (or similar software) and manage employee benefits enrollment for 401k and health/dental/vision insurance.
- Year-End Filings: Prepare and electronically file 1099s.
- Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable and monitor collections.
- Subcontractor Management: Collect invoices and coordinate payments with subcontractors and vendors.
- System Setup: Set up new employees, clients, and vendors in relevant systems.
- Compliance: Collaborate with external tax accountants and insurance brokers to ensure compliance with all filings and notifications.
- Process Improvements: Work with the COO to enhance accounting processes and ensure project profitability.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with BQE Core (BillQuick Enterprise) highly preferred. Similar experience required.
- Must have experience within a professional services environment.
- Familiarity with Gusto or similar payroll processing software.
- Expertise in bookkeeping for project management.
- Education: associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, or over 8+ years of bookkeeping experience.
- Preference for those who have experience working in a NetSuite environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with ASC standards, including ASC 606 and ASC 842.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and senior management on financial analysis, CAPEX requests, budgets, and forecasts.
- Maintain adequate internal controls to safeguard financial assets, adhering to SOX controls and accounting policies.
- Review balance sheet accounts monthly to confirm proper reconciliation and documentation.
- Analyze and review P&L accounts to support the month-end closing process, including cost analysis and evaluations.

Qualifications:

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

- Financial Reporting: Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Cost Accounting: Ability to implement and manage cost accounting systems, including job costing, project budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Internal Controls: Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust internal control systems to prevent errors and fraud, with a focus on SOX compliance.
- Financial Analysis: Proficient in conducting financial analyses, including profitability analysis, trend analysis, and financial modeling to support strategic decisions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Skilled in developing budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances, and providing actionable insights to management.
- Tax Compliance: Knowledge of tax regulations relevant to the construction industry, including sales tax, property tax, and payroll tax considerations.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and reporting.

Responsibilities:
Strategic and Traditional Financial Planning:
