Technical Writer

Our client is hiring a Technical Writer!

 

Job Title: Technical Writer (IT)

Location: 100% Remote or Denver, CO area (occasional in-office collaboration)

Contract: 1-month contract to start, with potential extension to 3+ months

Pay Range: $50 – $60 per hour (W2)

 

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including system guides, process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and technical manuals.
  • Work closely with IT and Cybersecurity teams to capture technical processes and requirements.
  • Translate technical language into clear and concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure documentation complies with organizational standards, style guides, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and validate documentation.
  • Organize documentation in a structured, accessible format (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, or other document management tools).
  • Support internal communication and training materials as needed.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer within IT environments.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, software, networks, and security practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience with documentation tools and platforms such as (Confluence, SharePoint, MS Office, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

 

Nice to Have

  • Graphic or visual documentation skills (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
