Congrats! Your cover letter and resume have passed the test; now it’s time for the interview. The interview is probably the final time you have to impress the hiring manager, so make sure to bring your “A” game.

1. Prepare: Review the job, company, and who will be interviewing you. Be sure you know your resume, and be able to explain your qualifications in a clear and concise manner. (Be sure to check out the blog post “Do Your Research Before An Interview”)

2. Dress the Part: Always research the company culture before going to an interview.  What is their dress policy? You don’t want to show up in a suit if they have a casual dress code policy, (and vice versa). You do, however, want to dress the part. Make sure your clothes are wrinkle and stain free, and stay away from perfume or cologne. Don’t forget about that smile!

3. Be Yourself: If you are honest about who you are, then your true, genuine qualities will shine. Just remember, you will most likely be in this job for a while. Why not show your personality to your future supervisor and co-workers during the interview.

After the interview, be sure to send a handwritten thank you letter, (if you can), to the people who interviewed you. If you follow these tips, you will have a successful, stress-free interview.
