Innovar Group is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Systems & Transmission for a growing engineering and infrastructure consulting firm supporting mission-critical facilities, hyperscale data centers, large industrial developments, and energy infrastructure projects.

This opportunity is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in high-voltage transmission, power systems analysis, and grid interconnection who wants to take on a strategic, client-facing role beyond traditional engineering studies.

You'll work with major clients, including Fortune 500 companies and hyperscale data center developers, to evaluate electrical power availability, identify transmission constraints, determine infrastructure upgrade requirements, and develop strategies to support large-scale facility development.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate high-voltage transmission and distribution systems (69kV–765kV) to determine grid capacity, reliability, and power availability for major developments.
  • Review and interpret load-flow studies, power system models, stability analyses, and contingency assessments.
  • Support grid interconnection planning for hyperscale data centers, industrial facilities, and generation projects.
  • Identify transmission constraints, infrastructure upgrades, and potential solutions to meet future power demands.
  • Develop ROM cost estimates, project schedules, technical reports, and infrastructure recommendations.
  • Coordinate with electric utilities, ISO/RTO organizations, engineers, and project stakeholders on feasibility studies and interconnection requirements.
  • Support technical due diligence, permitting, RFP development, and power infrastructure projects.
  • Translate complex engineering findings into clear business recommendations related to cost, schedule, reliability, and project risks.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of electrical power systems engineering experience, including high-voltage transmission, distribution, or transmission planning.
  • Strong understanding of three-phase, high-voltage power systems (69kV–765kV).
  • Experience using or interpreting load-flow analysis and power system modeling tools, such as PowerWorld, PSS/E, PowerGEM, GE PSLF, ETAP, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of transmission capacity, grid reliability, and utility interconnection processes.
  • Ability to evaluate electrical infrastructure drawings, specifications, interconnection agreements, and technical studies.
  • Experience translating technical findings into cost, schedule, reliability, and business-risk recommendations.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment and travel up to 30%.
