Position: Lead System Engineer

Location: Denver, CO

Duration: 6-month contract with the potential to extend

Pay Rate: $50+ per hour depending on experience

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer to lead the migration of our organization’s Google Workspace (G Suite) to Microsoft 365. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing the entire migration process, including data migration, configuration, and testing. This is a critical role that requires expertise in both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, as well as strong project management and technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and strategize the migration process from Google Workspace (G Suite) to Microsoft 365, ensuring minimal disruption to the organization’s daily operations.
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the existing Google Workspace environment, identifying any potential issues or challenges that may arise during the migration.
  • Develop a detailed migration plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, and communicate it to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with various teams, including IT, stakeholders, and end-users, to ensure a smooth and seamless migration experience.
  • Perform data migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, including email, documents, calendars, contacts, and other relevant data.
  • Configure Microsoft 365 applications and services to meet the organization’s specific requirements, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to integrate Microsoft 365 with existing systems and applications, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation.
  • Conduct thorough testing of the migrated data and configurations, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
  • Provide end-user training and support on Microsoft 365 applications, features, and functionalities.
  • Document the migration process, configurations, and any relevant procedures for future reference.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements and best practices in both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 platforms, and recommend improvements or optimizations as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in managing and executing Google Workspace (G Suite) to Microsoft 365 migrations.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of both Google Workspace (G Suite) and Microsoft 365 platforms, including their applications, features, and integration capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data migration techniques and tools, with the ability to efficiently transfer large volumes of data while maintaining data integrity and security.
  • Familiarity with various migration methods, such as IMAP migration, API-based migration, and third-party migration tools.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, particularly in the context of productivity suites.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and execute detailed migration plans, manage timelines, and coordinate resources effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues during the migration process.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of the migration process.
  • Certifications in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 (e.g., Google Workspace Certified, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are highly desirable.
